A delightful terraced Grade II listed cottage in one of Dorset’s prettiest
villages.
Built in the 16th Century, No 3 The Street, or Vale Cottage, is a Grade II
listed terrace house of great character and charm, with stone elevations and a
pitched tiled roof.
The house has been lovingly maintained with several upgrades of a new kitchen,
pressurized hot water, and sisal carpets in the sitting room and stairs.
The front door opens immediately to a double reception room with an exposed
beam dividing the dining and sitting areas. A fine and large Inglenook fire
place is the main feature with its inset wood burner and an impressive
Bressumer beam above.
The kitchen has a range of wall and floor units and a dresser for further
storage and a new peninsular island bar. A utility area is off to one side and
the downstairs gents further on. The back door opens up to the patio area
before steps rise to the rear garden.
From the sitting room the stairs rise to the 1st floor with a refurbished
bathroom and three bedrooms. Bedroom 1, with views over the garden, has a
large recessed area for wardrobes or free standing dressing. A loft ladder
gives access to the boarded loft area.
