General Information
North House is situated in the village of Toab part of the wider Virkie area
which lies about three miles south of Dunrossness where the main amenities in
the area are located, these including Mainland's mini - supermarket and post
office which also has fuel pumps, a small diy store, and the area's primary
school, secondary pupils going to Sandwick or Lerwick. There is a stop on the
Lerwick - Sumburgh bus route a short distance from the house on the main road.
There are many places of interest in the South Mainland area including the
rspb Reserve and visitor centre at Sumburgh Head, archaeological sites at
Jarlshof and Old Scatness Broch, Quendale Mill, and slightly further afield, a
further rspb reserve at the Loch of Spiggie, and St Ninian's Isle and its
stunning tombolo at Bigton.
The Shetland Islands lies in the middle of the North Sea about 100 miles north
of mainland Scotland. A daily overnight ferry service operated by Northlink
Ferries () links Shetland with Aberdeen & Orkney, whilst Loganair operates
regular flights from Sumburgh airport to Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh &
Glasgow (), plus a recently introduced link to London Heathrow via Dundee.

The property is in poor condition and requires complete renovation. It is
being sold in its current condition and no warranties will be given in respect
of any services or contents. Anything currently remaining in the property is

Property location
To reach the property approaching from the north, turn right to Toab from the
main A970 Lerwick - Sumburgh road on the approach to the airport. Turn left
immediately after the fire station, and then first left just after a white
painted cottage. Follow the side road past a modern house on the corner;
'North House' is next on the left.
